PilatesStrengthen, energise, support...
Pilates works to strengthen your body physically, improving your postural alignment and promoting relaxation.
We offer both antenatal and postnatal pilates classes under the safe of instruction of a chartered physiotherapist.
Antenatal Pilates
All our antenatal pilates classes are led by our specialist chartered Women's Health Physiotherapist.
Exercise during pregnancy is important and has many health benefits. It enables you to have a more positive experience of pregnancy, whilst preparing you for labour.
Our antenatal pilates classes focus on breathing, gentle stretching while strengthening your deep abdominal, back, arm and pelvic floor muscles. The exercises are safe and specifically designed to help support your changing body, helping to make your pregnancy experience comfortable and pain free, whilst promoting the valuable skill of relaxation.
Regular pilates during pregnancy will facilitate your return to your pre-pregnancy physique following the birth of your baby, whilst helping to safeguard you against continence problems and prolapse.

Postnatal Pilates
All our postnatal pilates classes are led by a highly qualified chartered physiotherapist.
Mums are often very keen to get back in to shape following the birth of their babies. However, rushing back or doing the wrong type of exercise risks injury to your joints, pelvic floor muscles and abdominals. In addition, the postnatal period involves much feeding, bathing, lifting and changing of your baby which places a lot of strain on your neck, back and upper body. Regular pilates during this time will help to strengthen your back and arm muscles, improving your core stability and posture, minimising the risk of strains and injury.
The weight of the baby during pregnancy and the effects of the hormones that soften your ligaments and muscles will have resulted in your pelvic floor muscles becoming weaker. Pilates focuses on exercising your pelvic floor muscles, thereby improving their strength and safeguarding you against incontinence and prolapses.
Postnatal pilates is safe, it can be started relatively early in the postnatal period and can accelerate your postnatal recovery.
5 week course £52 or £13 per session.
Beginners course includes a pre-assessment and goody bag.
Classes run
- Tuesdays 10.30 – 11.30am (beginners class)
- Wednesdays 10 – 11am
- Thursdays 1.15m – 2.15pm
You must be six weeks postnatal. Babies are very welcome!
